Church Weddings

Whitehall offers both Civil and Church wedding ceremonies, conducted in English. We have a fine selection of popular venues, traditional or contemporary and a reception can be arranged at one of the many local restaurants or hotels.

Wedding ceremonies in Cyprus are not available on Saturdays, Sundays or Public Holidays. Once you arrive at your resort your wedding co-ordinator will contact you.

Note:  An interview and rehearsal with the chaplain normally precedes a church wedding and at least one Baptism Certificate will be required.

ANGLICAN CHURCH VENUES

  • St. Helena’s Anglican Church - Larnaca

Here, you will find a warm, friendly welcome and real organ music! This church is very pretty and is located in the centre of Larnaca, half a mile from the seafront and it is air-conditioned. It can accommodate 80 to 100 guests and it is an ideal place to go should you wish to have a church wedding and yet be free to make your own accommodation arrangements. You can also go here for a Marriage Blessing.

  • Monastery - Ayia Napa

Constructed, according to local tradition, during the Venetian occupation circa 1500 A.D., this picturesque and ancient monastery in the centre of Ayia Napa is a popular venue for weddings. Dedicated to 'Our Lady of the Forests' the monastery stands in the middle of the village surrounded by a high wall. Its 16th Century church is partially underground and cut into the rock. The ancient sycamore tree in front of the south gate is believed to be 600 years old.

  • Grecian Sands Hotel - Ayia Napa

This fine four star hotel has a chapel in the grounds. However, to be married in the chapel one must be staying at the hotel. The hotel offers excellent reception facilities and  approximate costs are CYŁ15 to CYŁ20 per head, plus wine.  Alternatively, upon request, we can arrange a reception at a local restaurant of your choice.

  • Golden Coast Hotel - Protaras

Another excellent four star, holiday hotel with a chapel in the grounds. Reception facilities cost approximately CYŁ15 to CYŁ20 per head, plus wine. Alternatively, upon request, we can arrange a reception at a local restaurant of your choice. Please note that should you wish to just use the chapel facilities, the prices are CYŁ50 for residents and CYŁ150 for non-residents.

  • Palm Beach Hotel - Larnaca

The Palm Beach Hotel has it's own chapel in the grounds. This is a very beautiful, air-conditioned, chapel which can accommodate 25 to 30 guests! It is, perhaps, the largest hotel chapel on the eastern side of the island. Reception facilities at the hotel are very good and cost CYŁ12 to CYŁ25 per head. Alternatively, upon request, we can arrange a reception at a local restaurant of your choice. It should be noted that should you wish to just use the chapel facilities, without staying in the hotel, there is a CYŁ200 charge.

  • Adams Beach Hotel - Ayia Napa

This hotel has a beautiful little chapel which is right by the golden sands of Nissi Bay. The hotel accommodation includes a wonderful "Honeymoon Suite". Please note the use of this Chapel is only available to residents of the hotel.

ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH VENUES

Note: For all Catholic Church weddings, the religious service must be preceded by a registry office ceremony. This does not necessarily have to be done on the same day, the choice is yours.

Once your regional Bishop is in receipt of these papers he will forward them on to the Vicar General in Cyprus. The address will be supplied.
